Rod Fehring is the Chairman of the Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute appointed in March 2008.

Rod has spent the past 26 years working in the Australian property sector. Rod has held various positions including Chief Executive of Delfin Lend Lease and Head of Lend Lease Communities, Asia Pacific which consisted of three business units: Delfin Lend Lease, Lend Lease Development and Retirement by Design. He also held the positions of CEO of Lend Lease Ventures and CEO of Lend Lease PrimeLife.

In March 2010, Rod was appointed Executive General Manager – Residential of Australand Ltd. Australand is one of Australia’s major diversified property groups, with activities across Australia covering development of residential land, housing and apartments, development of and investment in income producing commercial and industrial property and property management.

Rod is actively involved in the property industry as a Foundation Member & Chairman of the Residential Development Council and Director of the Property Council of Australia. Rod has also held various advisory positions to the Federal Government and Industry Bodies as well as honorary roles such as being a Trustee of the Melbourne Cricket Ground Trust (July 1999 to December 2007) during the redevelopment of the Ground in preparation for the 2006 Commonwealth Games.

Rod's qualifications include, Bachelor Applied Science, Graduate Diploma Bachelor Applied Science, Graduate Diploma Sports Administration (Facilities), Graduate Diploma Urban & Regional Planning and he participated in the Executive Development and Advanced Management Programs at Wharton Business School, USA.
