Caroline commenced with AHURI as Communications Director in June 2010. She has more than 20 years experience in event management and communications roles spanning the private, non-government, and government sectors. Immediately prior to joining AHURI she was a Senior Communications Adviser at the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (DEECD), and from January 2009 to February 2010 Caroline was seconded from DEECD to the Department of Human Services (Housing & Community Building Division) to take up the role of Conference Manager for the 6th National Housing Conference. In this role she provided specialist conference management advice and expertise to the Victorian Minister for Housing, senior Department staff, senior AHURI staff (as the conference co-host) and other stakeholders. She was responsible for developing, managing and executing the project plan, budget, governance structure and ancillary events, including social and cultural events. Prior to joining the Victorian State Government, Caroline spent five years at the Melbourne Convention and Visitors Bureau as Senior Account Manager where she was responsible for partnering with local organisations and professional bodies, mainly in the education and medical sectors, to bid to host national and international congresses and meetings in Melbourne. Caroline has also held communications positions at the Australian Drug Foundation and Bristol-Myers Squibb Pharmaceuticals. |
