We are pleased to advise that the Australasian Housing Researchers Conference is being held in Adelaide 19 to 21 June 2006 at the South Australian Art Gallery, North Terrace, Adelaide.

The Conference will adopt a cross disciplinary perspective and actively encourages contributions from all disciplines, as well as from those working for the Australian Government, the New Zealand Government, State and Territory Governments and local government.

The Conference will address two important themes:

  1. Towards Fair Housing in Australia and New Zealand, and;
  2. Unleashing the Housing Imagination.

Hugh Stretton has kindly agreed to open the Conference and will provide a keynote speech drawing upon his recent book Australia Fair (UNSW Press 2005).

The Conference is being organised by the AHURI Southern Research Centre and is sponsored by the South Australian Housing Trust.
