Dr Ian Winter, AHURI Executive Director, presented to the Brotherhood of St Laurence lunchtime seminar in Melbourne on Thu 6 Aug 2015. Changes to the housing responsibilities and roles of Federal and State/Territory governments could have significant political and policy outcomes and affect the lives of many Australian citizens. Based on a critique of the Reform of Federation Issues and Discussion papers, this presentation grounds housing policy in the Federal Government’s Constitutional responsibilities and develops ‘national interest’ arguments for a new national housing policy.

Dr Ian Winter, AHURI Executive Director, presented to the Victorian Forum on Homelessness and Social Housing in Melbourne on Thu 9 Jul 2015. Victorian Minister for Housing, Disability and Ageing, Hon Martin Foley MP, convened the Forum to bring together a small group of leaders and innovators to begin to shape a framework for action to improve outcomes for people who are homeless or in housing need.
