Commonwealth: Department of Family and Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaCSIA)
The Department of Families, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs is the Australian Government's principal source of advice on social policy issues. FaCSIA works in partnership with other government and non-government organisations in the management of a diverse range of programs and services which support and improve the lives of Australians.

Commonwealth: FaCSIA - Housing Support Branch
FaCSIA helps support families and communities directly or through programs by assisting low and moderate income households to access appropriate and affordable housing and supports people to move out of homelessness. By following this link you can access publications on housing and homelessness.

New South Wales: Department of Housing
The NSW Department of Housing is one of the largest providers of public housing in the world, providing a range of housing solutions to meet the needs of today’s community.

Victoria: Department of Human Services
The Office of Housing is responsible to the Minister for Housing and is one of the eight divisions of the Department of Human Services. The department also oversees Disability Services, the Office for Children and Metropolitan, Rural and Regional Health and Aged Care Services.

Queensland: Department of Housing
The Department of Housing plays an important role in providing direct and indirect housing assistance, and in influencing the overall housing system within Queensland to improve people's lives through housing and community renewal.

South Australia: Department for Families and Communities
The DFC has a broad mandate to work with those who, through circumstance, may be poor, vulnerable, at risk of harm or isolated, to connect them to choices and opportunities. This means working together, and with others, to connect individuals, families and communities to choices and opportunities.

Western Australia: Department of Housing and Works
The Department of Housing and Works encompasses public and community housing, Aboriginal and regional housing, Keystart home loans, Landstart property sales, major government projects, capital works projects, and property and facilities maintenance and services.

Tasmania: Department of Health and Human Services

Australian Capital Territory: Department of Disability, Housing and Community Services
The ACT Department of Disability, Housing and Community Services has responsibility for a wide range of human services functions in the ACT, including multicultural and community affairs, public and community housing services and policy, children, youth and family support services and policy, disability policy and services, therapy services, Child and Family Centres, the ACT Government Concessions Program, homelessness and community services.

Northern Territory: Department of Local Government, Housing and Sport
The NT Department of Local Government, Housing and Sport's responsibilities include housing, local government, governance, sport, recreation, library and Indigenous services, water safety, animal welfare and a significant role within all NT Regions through regional offices in four locations.
