Description
This project aims to examine how planning and housing policy domains can work more closely together to deliver an increased affordable housing supply in urban renewal areas. The project will consider the planning related powers that have been used to leverage affordable housing in urban renewal areas in three cities in particular (Sydney, Adelaide and Brisbane).
The project will draw on quantitative evidence in each jurisdiction and interview evidence from developers, planners and policy officials in State and local government.
The work will build on previous work done by the authors (Project 60322), and be of direct relevance to informing the national housing reform agenda.
The project involves financial support from the City of Sydney.
