While the AHURI Research Synthesis Service specialises in timely, independent advice which is often confidential, some of our work contributes to the broader housing policy evidence base. A selection of publicly available Synthesis reports can be viewed here.
In 2010 the Service was commissioned by Shelter NSW to synthesise Australian and international evidence on the nature of housing stress for low-moderate income households, and policy and program interventions to assist these families into sustainable, affordable housing. The report, Intermediate housing markets and effective policy responses, is available from the Shelter NSW website.
In 2011, the Service was commissioned by VicHealth to conduct a comprehensive research synthesis of the relationship between housing and health. The synthesis establishes the breadth of the international evidence base and interrogates current ideas and assumptions underlying housing-related health interventions. The report, Precarious housing and health, is available from the VicHealth website.
