Tony De DomenicoTony's 40-year career has incorporated various roles across the urban development, higher education, international diplomacy and government sectors.

In addition to his role as Chairman of AHURI, Tony serves as Deputy Chairperson of Development Victoria, the statutory government authority responsible for redeveloping and revitalising public buildings and land in Victoria. Prior to this, he led the Victoria Division of the Urban Development Institute of Australia as its Executive Director where he was responsible for managing all aspects of the organisation and was a regular media commentator on industry issues.

Before joining the UDIA, Tony was Deputy Chief Minister of the ACT, with ministerial responsibilities for Urban Service. He was also Industrial Relations, Economic Development, Employment and Tourism and Regulatory Reform Minister.

Mr De Domenico is a board member of Common Equity Housing Limited, a past Deputy Chancellor of La Trobe University, and former President and Life Member of the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Australia.

Tony was recognised in the 2018 Queens’ Birthday Honours with a medal in the general division (OAM) for his service to urban planning, research and development in Victoria.
