David Prentice

Dr David Prentice

David is a Principal Economic Advisor at Infrastructure Victoria. He is currently involved in research estimating the social and economic impacts of social housing. David is also responsible for managing the social housing and energy sectors in Infrastructure Victoria's ongoing work. And he also contributes to other projects at Infrastructure Victoria that involve econometric analysis.

David has a PhD in economics from Yale University. Prior to joining Infrastructure Victoria in 2016 he worked for twenty years as an academic economist, primarily at La Trobe University and the University of Nottingham – Malaysia. As well as publishing research papers in industry and labour economics, David is also a co-author of a research report on the taxation of transport for the Henry Review of Taxation.

David has also been the editor of Economic Papers, published by the Economics Society of Australia, since 2013.
