Dr Serryn Eaglesons expertise lies in spatial data infrastructures and developing strategies for the improved use of spatial information. Prior to taking up her role with Data61 Serryn was Deputy Director of the Australian Urban Research Infrastructure Network (AURIN) and Assistant Director Research FrontierSI (Formerly the CRC for Spatial Information). Serryn has a PhD from The University of Melbourne, specialising in the design of business rules and criteria that improve the way data is captured for demographic modelling and integration. This research contributed to changing in the allocation of administrative boundaries across Australia, in recognition for her work was awarded a prestigious Victorian Fellowship. Serryn completed her post-doctoral research at Curtin University, Western Australia in applying spatial analysis to bio-surveillance for the automated detection of disease outbreaks. In addition to academic qualifications Serryn has over 15 years of applied experience in spatial modelling and applying this expertise to inform urban planning.
