Leonie Crayden

Leone Crayden is the Executive Director Q Shelter, Queensland’s peak industry body for community housing and homelessness service providers.

A hands on, highly skilled, and solutions focused Executive; Leone has demonstrated visionary leadership and outstanding performance in corporate management across a number of community services including mental health, community housing, and disability.

Leone’s strong commercial acumen and an entrepreneurial spirit have seen her lead several different organisations to self-sufficiency and long-term sustainable outcomes.

She has overseen the merger of five small not-for-profit community housing and homelessness organisations, which saw an eight-fold increase in their funding over a six year period.

Leone has served as the Chairperson of the Mental Health Coordinating Council NSW for six years, a Board member of the Northern NSW Local Health District 2007-2015, Co-Chair Agency for Clinical Innovation, Mental Health Network and current Director of the Lady Musgrave Trust – Queensland’s oldest charity.

Leone has a background in nursing, social science, leadership and governance and has presented several papers on housing and homelessness, especially on mental health, housing and support services and importance of the interface between clinical, psychosocial support and tenancy sustainment.
