Chief Executive Officer, UnitingCare West
Amanda Hunt holds the position of Chief Executive Officer of UnitingCare West, a not-for-profit community services organisation which provides a diverse range of services that touch the lives of thousands of families and individuals in Western Australia every year. Amanda believes communities thrive when everyone has a life of belonging, hope and purpose.
With over 20 years’ experience in the Community Sector, Amanda has proven her expertise in building capacity through leading innovative, sustainable services and demonstrated strong advocacy for the rights of vulnerable members of our society.
Her journey in the community sector has taken her from the Cerebral Palsy Association (now the Ability Centre), and National Disability Services (WA), to CEO positions at Recreation and Sport Network (now Inclusion WA), and the Gowrie WA, an Early Childhood organisation. She has also held the role of Executive General Manager –Self Directed Services at Anglicare WA and was most recently State Director of Mission Australia.
Amanda has contributed to strategic planning as a member of State and Federal committees and Boards; currently as Board member of the Western Australian Council of Social Services, Community Employers of Western Australia, and the Centre for Social Impact Advisory Board, and is a member of the End Homelessness WA Alliance and UnitingCare Australia Social Policy Network.
As a leader serving in the community sector, Amanda has a strong passion and sense of vision for achieving a quality of life for each individual; as well as a valued place in community for individuals and families who are marginalised or experiencing disadvantage.
