Chief Executive Officer, St Bartholomew’s House Inc
John Berger is a social worker with over 30 years experience and is currently the CEO for St Bartholomew’s House Inc. John’s career has seen him work within government in the child protection system and then in the community services sector. This work has seen him be responsible for a range of community-based services including Homelessness & Housing Services, Youth Services, Financial Counselling, Emergency Relief and Out of Home Care.
John is passionate about working with community particularly for those who are vulnerable such as those experiencing homelessness and families with children in state care. He is the foundational CEO member driving the End homelessness WA Alliance.
John has been actively involved in the development of Outcomes Based Measures through the Bankwest Foundations CSI Series and is a member of the UWA CSI Advisory Council
He was instrumental in developing the Foyer Oxford. Foyer Oxford is the largest Foyer in Australia.
John has been the chair of FinWA (Family Inclusion Network) for 9 years, the first consumer advocacy group funded in Australia for parents who have children in the care of the state He is a Fellow of Leadership WA and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
