Manager of Strategic Advocacy and Policy, Victoria Legal Aid
Lucy Adams is the Manager of Strategic Advocacy and Policy, Victoria Legal Aid. Prior to this recent appointment, Lucy was the Head of Homeless Law and Advocacy at Justice Connect.
Homeless Law is a specialist legal service for people experiencing or at risk of homelessness in Victoria. They work to prevent homelessness and reduce the negative impact of the law on people experiencing homelessness through legal representation, combined with social work support, and evidence-informed advocacy.
In 2013, Lucy did a Churchill Fellowship and published the report, In the Public Eye: Reducing the negative impact of laws regulating public space on people experiencing homelessness. Prior to starting at Justice Connect, Lucy was an intellectual property lawyer. In 2016, Lucy was the Law Institute of Victoria’s Community Lawyer of the Year.
