AHURI Board Directors appointed to NHFIC and Fishermans Bend Development Board

6 September 2018

AHURI is pleased to announce that two of the Directors of the AHURI Board have been appointed to separate Commonwealth and Victorian Government Boards.

Mr Adrian Harrington, a non-executive Director of the Australian Housing and Urban Research Institute Board, has been appointed as a part-time Member of the National Housing Finance and Investment Corporation (NHFIC) Board.

A key role of the NHFIC is to manage a bond aggregator which will raise more private and institutional investment for lower-cost affordable housing and cheaper and longer-term finance to registered community housing providers.

Adrian Harrington has more than 25 years of experience in the funds management and real estate industries, and is currently the Head of Funds Management at Folkestone, an ASX listed real estate funds manager and developer.

Ms Meredith Sussex AM, also a non-executive Director of the AHURI Board, has been appointed by the Victorian State Government as Chair of the Fishermans Bend Development Board.

The Fishermans Bend Development Board will lead engagement with the community and advise on precinct plans and major decisions for Fishermans Bend to ensure that the interests of the community are at the forefront of development and that the project adheres to the highest levels of governance.

Meredith Sussex is an expert on city planning and was the chair of the former Fishermans Bend Ministerial Advisory Committee.
