The attendance of the Hon Michael Sukkar MP, Hon Pru Goward MP and Hon Yvette Berry MLA reflects the strategic importance of affordable housing in their respective portfolios at the federal, state and territory level.
Minister Sukkar’s address will unpack federal policy on affordable housing, following a year in which the Federal Government delivered a number of major housing policy announcements, including the National Housing and Homelessness Agreement (NHHA); the National Housing Infrastructure Facility (NHIF); the National Housing Finance and Investment Corporation (NHFIC).
Pru Goward will deliver a keynote address prior to the final conference panel session. Minister Goward is the NSW Minister for Family and Community Services and Minister for Social Housing and leads the Governments Future Directions in Social Housing Strategy which takes a whole of continuum approach to housing – from homelessness to the private market.
As the ACT Minister for Housing and Suburban Development, Yvette Berry is leading the development of a new affordable housing strategy, following ten years of the successful ACT Affordable Housing Action Plan. Her ministerial address at the conference will talk to the ACT successes and future plans.
