Dr Tony Richards

Tony Richards is an economist with extensive senior experience in domestic and international policy making.

Tony is currently Senior Advisor at the Digital Finance Cooperative Research Centre in Sydney. He was previously Department Head at the Reserve Bank of Australia, where served as Head of Economic Research, Head of Economic Analysis and Head of Payments Policy. Prior to that, he worked 10 years at the International Monetary Fund in Washington DC.

His research on economics, finance and housing issues has been published in leading international and Australian journals. He is a GAICD and holds a Bachelor of Economics (Honours) from the University of Sydney, a Masters in Public Administration from Harvard University and a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the George Washington University.
