Description: This study investigated the capacity constraints affecting Australia’s affordable housing industry, which is critical to addressing the housing needs of low-income Australians. Industry stability and growth relies on government policy continuity and directional clarity; subsidies being adequate, appropriate and assured; and the potential contribution of specialist institutions such as a financial intermediary to access to low-cost funds to support key industry requirements.
