John Doyle

John has more than 25 years’ experience in management and research roles across the public, private and not-for-profit sectors.

Before AHURI, he managed La Trobe University’s parliamentary internship program, worked as a consultant researcher in the school and higher education sector, and was a board director of Cire Services, a provider of community-based services including trauma-informed school education.

Earlier, John held regulatory policy and strategy roles at Optus and was a board director of the telecommunications sector’s peak industry body, Communications Alliance. He has deep program management skills and extensive experience engaging with government, industry and community organisations.

John’s research on political and policy history has been published in academic journals and the media and he is the author of a book on Australian telecommunications reform. John is an adjunct research fellow at La Trobe University and a member of the university’s Humanities Course Advisory Committee.
