Dr Rachel Trigg

With over 25 years of experience, Rachel has diverse expertise in urban and social research, policy and practice. Over the past 10 years, her work has focused on the housing sector and particularly the planning, delivery and operation of social and affordable housing.

Prior to joining AHURI, Rachel was the Director Social Outcomes at Homes NSW, contributing to major mixed tenure renewal projects such as the Waterloo Renewal Project. She led the rapid growth of Urbis’ national Community Planning team and co-led the Social Sustainability team at Elton Consulting. Rachel has also held senior roles at Parramatta, Waverley and Marrickville Councils, and taught core courses in the Planning Program at the University of NSW. Her early experience was in state and local government in WA.

A PhD qualified researcher and trained facilitator, Rachel has worked closely with a wide range of public, private and not-for-profit organisations in the housing sector. She has deep technical knowledge in this complex sector, gained from the broad range of projects on which she has worked.
