This research explores the ways households experience pathways into, within and out of the Australian social housing system.
This report examines the role of policy in shaping social housing pathways (i.e. the changing experience of housing by tenants and their households over time and space) through a review of current social housing operational policies. It considers application processes, eligibility criteria, rent, use of premises, tenant-initiated transfers, portfolio management and tenancy management by landlords.
This is the final report for the AHURI Inquiry into social impact investment for housing and homelessness outcomes. Social impact investment (SII) is investment intending to generate social and financial returns, while actively measuring both. It is a growing mechanism for using capital from investors to finance solutions to complex social problems.
This study investigated the opportunities and risks for social impact investments (SII) to improve housing and homelessness outcomes in Australia.
