AHURI to advise Australian Government on cities

Cities Reference Group to help deliver on Smart Cities Plan

12 Apr 2017

AHURI Executive Director Dr Ian Winter has been invited by the Australian Government to join a Cities Reference Group to help advise Government on cities policy.

Dr Winter joins experts from property, planning, infrastructure, architecture, local government and academia on the specialist reference group.

In making the announcement, Assistant Minister for Cities and Digital Transformation Angus Taylor MP welcomed the expertise and insight the group would bring.

“Our cities agenda is all about positioning our cities to be the best they can be in the future. “I’m looking forward to working with the Reference Group as we continue to refine our cities policy, foster new ideas for innovation and collaboration, and shape the way we measure performance of our cities,’ Minister Taylor said.

AHURI will also explore cities policy at the next national one-day conference, Affordability and liveability in our cities in Melbourne on 29 June 2017.
