Brisbane Youth Services evaluation

AHURI’s professional services team wins tender to evaluate pilot project providing mobile sustainable tenancy service for young people

19 Dec 2016

AHURI’s professional services team has been commissioned to evaluate a pilot project that provides a mobile sustainable tenancy service for young people aged 16 to 25. The pilot program, which started in August 2016 and is to run for an initial 18 month period, is being conducted by Brisbane Youth Services with support from the Queensland Government Department of Housing and Public Works. It works to address the needs of young people at risk of losing their tenancy across various housing tenures including social housing.

Integral to the evaluation, AHURI researchers will look at client outcomes through client interviews and other quantitative data, and assess service costs to establish the program’s efficiency and cost effectiveness. The evaluation will identify key lessons from the implementation and operation of the program, including emerging risks and unintended impacts, in order to build a robust evidence base to support the future of the program, including its potential expanding across Queensland.

The AHURI Professional Services team is very pleased to be able to contribute to a rigorous understanding of the initiative. With their extensive experience, the team is well positioned to undertake an insightful and independent assessment of the program.
