Report co-author Carrie Hamilton speaks to ABC TV

23 Mar 2017

Treasurer Scott Morrison and the Federal Government are actively considering a bond aggregator model that could raise finance for community housing providers to build and supply social housing.

ABC TV interviewed Carrie Hamilton from the Housing Action Network in Sydney about the model. Carrie is one of the authors of the AHURI research, Enhancing affordable rental housing investment via an intermediary and guarantee, that developed the bond aggregator model from established Swiss and UK schemes.

In the lead up to this year's Commonwealth Budget, Treasurer Scott Morrison is presenting an address on housing affordability at an AHURI event on Monday, 10 April 2017. This lecture will focus on housing affordability, in particular the increasing pressures placed on social and affordable housing.
