Jennifer Cunich appointed the new Chair of AHURI Board

AHURI is pleased to announce Ms Jennifer Cunich as the new Chair of the Board of AHURI, taking over from Mr Adrian Harrington who has been appointed Chair of the Board of the National Housing Finance and Investment Corporation (NHFIC).

headshot of jennifer cunichMs Cunich has over 30 years’ experience in the business and property sectors and has been a member of AHURI’s Board since 2019. Jennifer has a very strong background in housing and planning, having been a former Non-Executive Director of the Victorian Planning Authority, CEO of the Australian Institute of Architects and Executive Director of the Property Council of Australia.

  In addition, AHURI is pleased to welcome Ms Alexandra Waldren as a new Independent Director. Alexandra is the National Director Industry Policy at Master Builders Australia and is the current Chair of Livable Housing Australia. She has over 20 years’ experience as a government public policy adviser   with expertise in transport infrastructure, aged care and regional development.

‘I am delighted to welcome Jennifer Cunich as the new Chair of AHURI’s Board,’ says Dr Michael Fotheringham, Managing Director of AHURI. ‘Jennifer brings a wealth of experience in many relevant fields that, through her prior role as an independent director, has already been of     great benefit to the AHURI board. I look forward to working further with Jennifer in her new capacity as Chair.’

Ms Cunich has over 30 years’ experience in the business and property sectors and has been a member of AHURI’s Board since 2019.

  AHURI’s outgoing Chair, Adrian Harrington departs AHURI after nearly six years, having served firstly as an Independent Director and as Chair of the Board for the last two years.

  ‘On behalf of AHURI I’d like to congratulate Adrian on his appointment and thank him for his tireless contributions to AHURI,’ says Dr Fotheringham. ‘It has been a privilege to work with Adrian, and we thank him for his enthusiastic and knowledgeable contribution, particularly   in championing AHURI’s cities and urban research agenda.
